We had an amazing room, we had the a la carte menu for dinner and it was fantastic - absolutely first class food .. we mentioned to one of the waiting staff that the kale on one of the dishes was the nicest kale we have ever tasted and would be really interested to know how it was cooked. She came back after speaking to Mark and told us.
Our room was beautiful, had a great nights slept and the bath is amazing - look at the pictures. We got up and had the breakfast which again was wonderful. Then Mark appeared with a piece of paper and written on it was the recipe for the kale he’s a fantastic chap we had a good chat with him and his cooking and the whole experience has been fantastic. Fully recommend this place - the staff are all wonderful and friendly and I honestly Could not fault anything about the place. After a few minutes I had to go and ask for a menu. Our orders were taken and the drinks and starters arrived promptly. The food was very well presented, think Masterchef.
Our main course arrived and again they were very well presented and the food was cooked to perfection and tasted great.
After we finished the main course it felt like we were abandoned. I again had to go and ask for the dessert menu.
Overall we had a good time but the service was lacking. We could not fault the food and if the service had been better i would have given a five star review.

  Came in a couple of weeks ago with a friend and had a delightful meal. We both had the al a carte menu, I had the scallops and my friend... read more had the ham and eggs for starters, both were great. the highlight of both of our meal(s) was for sure the beef wellington that we shared. It was first presented to us by one of the staff and then told it needed to rest, it looked absolutely perfect and we both couldn’t wait to tuck in. It was served with mash a carrot and a gravy. This is by far the best wellington we have had in a long time and we will be back for one again soon.

Drinks/Wine list was also very good. It would be 10/10 is the servers we a little more attentive. However in all this was a great meal in a great restaurant.

So much so that we have already booked a return visit in August to try the lamb rump!. We were served by James who was very friendly, gave some fantastic recommendations and made sure we were looked after throughout the evening. This really is a gem of pub and restaurant., with great food and great service.
